for people who want to get in or back in to something like drawing or writing
this works for me most of the time, it won’t work for everyone guaranteed but if you’re willing to give it a shot, go for it
alright so like if you want to get back in to or get in to drawing or writing or something like that
here’s what I do
I literally just force myself
I take into account absolutely no feelings or motivation toward the task I just do it, as it were
in my mind I want to write, so I’m going to, none of this “eh but I don’t feel like it right now” nonsense
I didn’t feel like writing until I started writing
same goes for my art most of the time, if I don’t feel like drawing but I have something in mind I do it whether I feel like doing it or not
now what some people may fear is that this will compromise their quality of work
but what’s supposed to happen, or at least what happens to me is when I force myself into these things I get in the mood for doing that thing and thus the quality is relatively the same if I’d been in the mood before I started
and if it’s not, I usually just keep trying. by forcing myself into a project I get in the mood for doing it and it’s ok to keep trying again, I don’t mean to force yourself in to something and the first thing you churn out better be good
if anything it’s more of a situation where I think “well, everything’s out and I’m here now so I might as well”
