WELCOME BACK! For those who logged off, this is what you missed.

1. @staff made a post pretty much saying “Your stuff isn’t getting deleted, just hidden from everyone but you” and “Yeah we know you hate the term “female presenting nipples” but we ain’t gonna stop saying it”

2. If a blog has a pixelated icon that means they got hit by the ban, you cannot view that blog outside the sidebar. You cannot even view their archive. Allegedly if you follow the advice in this post it’ll be fixed but only if it was an accidental flag (aka a real sfw blog)

3. The post Staff made including examples of what was ok to post. It got flagged.

4. Yes, the bots are still here. Yes they are still stealing posts and putting porn links on them. Yes there are still ads with stuff more sexual than they allow in posts. Yes innocent things are still getting flagged.

5. So yes, the site is still here and staff are still morons.

Some solid fundamentals, although for formatting a lot of comics are still done on 11 by 17-inch boards and shrunk down to 6.9 by 10.5-inch for printing. For more in-depth information on layouts and visual storytelling, check out Scott McCloud’s “Making Comics” and “Understanding Comics”.

ceruleancheeseck-deactivated201 asked:

Could you do a how to with hands? I love the way yours come out.

talsart answered:

Ok ok I’ve already told some people several times that I am really really really bad at explaining stuff (and it gets harder in english) BUT I’m gonna try this time real quick because hands are important.

Alright now there’s one thing I do when I am sketching hands which is this lil’ geometric fella:

image

This guy represents the palm of your hand or a closed fist. Now you have to  add more squares on top of it to make fingers, like this:

image

We got ourselves a tourkey, remember, the middle finger is always the big one and the ring finger is the same size as the index finger, and we all know pinky is the smol one.

now all you have to do is erase some parts and add more details

image

“but tals that’s a boring 2D hand I want something more dynamic.”

Now that’s where things get complicated because from this step foward you have to know a bit about perspective and bend the first geometric figure

Also I have no idea to explain how the hell do I draw those fingers because they come out natually now.
